Lifestyle coaching in disease treatment is a critical component to the Sara Soulati EECP Method at Global Cardio Care Centers. A woman came for treatment for angina pectoris. Born May 1962, she enrolled in the Sara Soulati EECP Method in March 2014.
In addition to angina pectoris (chest pain), she had a previous stent, palpitations and shortness of breath (dyspnea), fatigue, and asthma. She could not exercise due to her chest pain, shortness of breath and asthma. Her chest pain interfered with mobility, and she was dizzy upon exertion. Mobility caused palpitations, and she was consistently fatigued.
She took a blood thinner, called Coumadin, as a result of stents placed in her arteries due to coronary artery disease. Her physician prescribed Lasix to reduce edema/swelling from water retention.
Lifestyle Coaching To Help Angina Pectoris
The Sara Soulati EECP Method includes the Sara Soulati Health For Life Program and Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP), a non-invasive circulatory treatment to fight and prevent cardiovascular disease. The patient received 35 treatment hours of EECP. As part of the Health for Life Program, she received daily lifestyle coaching. Lifestyle coaches delivered instant feedback about health education, nutrition, exercise, and monitoring of vital signs. The effect of poor nutrition choices on vital signs (sugars, blood pressure, weight, edema, cholesterol) was also discussed. Everyone reviewed the need for exercise to strengthen cardiovascular health.
The woman listened to 35 hours of audiotapes with educational handouts as part of the Sara Soulati Health For Life Program. She was taught the importance of healthier nutrition with a plant-based diet, how to incorporate moderate exercise and the fact that lowering risk factors for disease would improve healthier lifestyle.
Results of Sara Soulati EECP Method
Results: The woman did not present with high blood pressure or serious obesity; however, the result of the program and treatment reduced both blood pressure and weight.
She reported little to no shortness of breath or chest pain and resumed exercise without either. This creates less fatigue and enhances sleep for better overall quality of life. Physicians continue to monitor her progress and have removed Lasix from her drug regimen.
Her doctor asked her to monitor her weight only. Her cardiologist is in disbelief of the results of the echocardiogram completed after treatment and has scheduled his own echo to confirm the positive results. Patient’s cardiologist is also considering eliminating Coumadin from her drug regimen.
Patient is following the Sara Soulati Health For Life Program, nutrition and exercise guidelines to ensure she continues to lose weight and maintains healthy blood pressure.
